Glass art classes in san Francisco
Classes will begin 2021
workshops: kiln glass exploration
All classes will be conducted in the San Francisco studio
Through these 2-3 day workshop students will discover how glass reacts to different glass and metals and how different heating temperatures can create different textures.
Workshops are limited to two participants and will focus primarily on color and how glass reacts with other glass and metals.
Children Workshops will require parent support and children should be over 10 or confirmed by instructor. The focus will be on using color, glass powder (frit), and stencils. Additionally, students explore texture using different firing schedules.
Adults workshop
Day 1: Test Tiles: Students will create 2-8 test tiles. A number of tiles will be on display for students to examine and gain ideas. All student tiles will be fired and ready for the next class.
Day 2: Finished Piece: Student’s share their creations with each other and then pick a tile to make into a larger piece (Rectangle or Square).
Day 3 Optional: Slumping: student’s use the kiln and a mould to slump their larger piece into a bowl.

Day 1: Test Tiles Full Fuse: Students will create 2-4 test tiles. A number of tiles will be on display for students to examine and gain ideas. All student tiles will be fired as a full fuse and ready for the next class.
Day 2 : Test Tiles Tack Fuse: Students will create 2-4 test tiles. These tiles will be fired as a tack fuse for texture.

This is a chance for people who have already taken a class to create their own projects or to set up individualized instruction for more complex ideas and multi fired projects.
